Run for the Pies this Thanksgiving and donate to the Salvation Army and Human Concerns Center. Help feed local people in need this holiday season.

Join us in the Run for the Pies!

Before settling down to eat your turkey, or prepare your house for guests this Thanksgiving, why not get a little exercise in and help the Salvation Army and Human Concern Center of Oswego NY?

The Run for the Pies, now going for 15+ years, does just that! Every Thanksgiving morning, a group of runners and walkers meet at the Oswego YMCA to do a 5k run/walk before dinner. It’s open to the public and everyone in the community is welcome to join. What began as a handful of friends running together on Thanksgiving morning has grown into a popular family and community event.

What began as an ancient Chinese tradition over 2,000 years ago has become a widespread phenomenon across North America and the world. Dragon Boating is more popular now in the United States than it ever has been before. Warm Up Oswego Promises to Make February in Oswego Warmer Than Ever!

Let’s face it; winter in Oswego, NY can be bleak, boring, and gray.Usually by the time February rolls around Oswegonians are more than ready for spring, warm weather and sunshine. So why not get out in the community and enjoy the things that make Oswego great, it’s local businesses, organizations, and community members? And while you’re at it, do things that help to warm you (and our town) up.

The Second Annual Oswego Dragon Festival a Huge Success for the YMCA

On September 7th 2013, 28 dragon boats raced one another in the Oswego harbor, all the while raising money for the YMCA’s Strong Kids Campaign. Spectators and other teams lined the fence along Brietbeck Park to watch and cheer one another on. “With 28 boats in the Oswego Dragon Festival this year and many more spectators, we were able to reach more than 3,500 people on race day about how the Y serves it’s communities and how all of us working together can make an impact,” said Jackie Sheffield, Associate Director of the Oswego YMCA.
